The Mountain (Al-Toor)
49 verses, revealed in Mecca after Prostration (Al-Sajdah) before Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Mount Sinai, 1 And [by] a Book inscribed 2 on fine parchment; 3 by the Visited House, 4 and the uplifted roof 5 And [by] the sea filled [with fire], 6 VERILY, [O man,] the suffering decreed by thy Sustainer [for the sinners] will indeed come to pass: 7 Of it there is no averter. 8 On the Day whereon the heaven will shake with an awful shaking. 9 and the mountains shall violently fly about. 10 Then woe that Day to the beliers; 11 Who are in [empty] discourse amusing themselves. 12 The Day they are thrust toward the fire of Hell with a [violent] thrust, [its angels will say], 13 "This:, it will be said, "Is the Fire,- which ye were wont to deny! 14 What, is this magic, or is it you that do not see? 15 Burn in its heat. It is all the same for you whether you exercise patience or not; This is the recompense for your deeds". 16 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in Gardens (Paradise), and Delight. 17 enjoying what Allah will have endowed them with; and their Lord will have saved them from the torment of the Blazing Fire. 18 "Eat and drink with happiness because of what you used to do." 19 Reclining on thrones set in lines, and We will unite them to large-eyed beautiful ones. 20 And (as for) those who believe and their offspring follow them in faith, We will unite with them their offspring and We will not diminish to them aught of their work; every man is responsible for what he shall have wrought. 21 And We shall bestow on them fruit and meat in abundance - whatever they may desire: 22 They shall pass therein from one to another a cup wherein there shall be nothing vain nor any sin. 23 ۞ And there will go round boy-servants of theirs, to serve them as if they were preserved pearls. 24 And they will advance unto each other asking questions. 25 Saying: Surely we feared before on account of our families: 26 but Allah has been gracious to us and has protected us from the punishment of the burning wind. 27 Lo! we used to pray unto Him of old. Lo! He is the Benign, the Merciful. 28

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
