Therefore remind! by thy Lord's blessing thou art not a soothsayer neither possessed. 29 Or say they: (he is) a poet, (one) for whom we may expect the accident of time? 30 say [to them], "Wait then: I too am waiting along with you!" -- 31 Does their reason tell them to say this or is it because they are a rebellious people? 32 Or do they say, "He has made it up"? Rather, they do not believe. 33 Then let them bring a discourse like it, if they speak truly. 34 Have they been created from nothing or are they themselves their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and earth? Nay, but they have not sure faith. 36 Or do they have your Lord's treasures in their keeping? Or have absolute authority over them? 37 Have they a ladder up to heaven by means of which they can overhear? Then let their listeners bring a clear proof. 38 Hath He daughters and ye sons? 39 Do you (Muhammad) ask them for any payment (for your preaching) which they cannot afford? 40 Or do they have knowledge of the Unknown which they write down? 41 Or desire they to outwit? The unbelievers, they are the outwitted. 42 Or have they any god beside Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)! 43 And were they to see a portion of the sky falling, they will say, “It is a heap of clouds.” 44 Then leave them, till they encounter their day wherein they shall be thunderstruck, 45 Their deception will not avail them in the least on that day, nor will they be helped. 46 And surely those who are unjust shall have a punishment besides that (in the world), but most of them do not know. 47 And be patient upon your Lord’s command, (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), for you are indeed in Our sight; and proclaim the Purity of your Lord while praising Him, whenever you stand. 48 and glorify Him after the setting of the stars. 49
