Therefore continue to give warning, for by the grace of your Lord, you are not a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Or they allege, “He is a poet – we await a calamity of the times to befall him.” 30 Say thou: "Wait, [then,] hopefully; behold, I, too, shall hopefully wait with you!" 31 Does their reason tell them to say this or is it because they are a rebellious people? 32 What! They say, “He has invented the Qur'an”? Rather they do not have faith. 33 Then let them produce speech the like thereof, if they are truthful. 34 Or, were they created out of nothing? Or, were they their own creators? 35 [And] have they created the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no certainty of anything! 36 Do they own the treasures of your Lord, or have they been given charge of them? 37 Have they a ladder up to heaven by means of which they can overhear? Then let their listeners bring a clear proof. 38 Does God have daughters while you have sons? 39 Or, do you ask them for a wage, so that they become weighed down in debt? 40 Or do they have knowledge of the Unknown which they write down? 41 Or, do they desire to outwit? The unbelievers are the outwitted. 42 Or do they have a God besides Allah? Purity is to Allah from their ascribing of partners to Him. 43 Were they to see a piece of the sky falling (on them), they would (only) say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 Wherefore let them alone, till they meet their Day whereon they shall swoon. 45 and when their evil plans will be of no benefit to them nor will they be helped. 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment (i.e. the torment in this world and in their graves) before this, but most of them know not. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 27, Page 36]. 47 And be patient upon your Lord’s command, (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), for you are indeed in Our sight; and proclaim the Purity of your Lord while praising Him, whenever you stand. 48 And in the night-time also hymn His praise, and at the setting of the stars. 49
