Wherefore admonish thou! thou art not, by the grace of thy Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Or do they say: A poet, we wait for him the evil accidents of time. 30 Say thou: "Wait, [then,] hopefully; behold, I, too, shall hopefully wait with you!" 31 Is it that their faculties of understanding urge them to this, or are they but a people transgressing beyond bounds? 32 Or do they say: He has forged it. Nay! they do not believe. 33 Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful. 34 Or were they created out of naught? Or are they the creators? 35 [And] have they created the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no certainty of anything! 36 Or are the Treasures of thy Lord with them, or are they the managers (of affairs)? 37 Or have they a stairway (to heaven), by means of which they listen (to the talks of the angels)? Then let their listener produce some manifest proof. 38 Or, has He daughters, and they sons? 39 Or askest thou (Muhammad) a fee from them so that they are plunged in debt? 40 Or have they the unseen so that they write (it) down? 41 Or do they intend a plot (against thee)? But those who defy Allah are themselves involved in a Plot! 42 Or, do they have a god, other than Allah? Exaltations to Allah above that which they associate! 43 And if they should see a fragment of the heaven falling down, they would say: it is only clouds piled up. 44 So, leave them until they face their day (of doom) when they will be stunned. 45 the day when their guile shall avail them naught, and they shall not be helped. 46 For the harmdoers there is indeed, a punishment before that, but most of them do not know. 47 And be patient under the Judgement of your Lord, surely, you are before Our Eyes. And exalt with the praise of your Lord when you arise, 48 And in a part of the night exalt Him and after [the setting of] the stars. 49
