Al-Najm 3 of 3
Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 and that He Himself created the two sexes: male and female, 45 From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted; 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 and covered them with torment. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This (Muhammad SAW) is a warner (Messenger) of the (series of) warners (Messengers) of old. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
