The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Beneficent 1 Taught the Quran. 2 Created man, 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 25
