The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He created man 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 And the stars and trees prostrate. 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
