The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 has taught the Koran. 2 Created man, 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
