The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 Created man, 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
