A throng of the ancients 39 and many from the later generations. 40 And those on the Left Hand Who will be those on the Left Hand? 41 Will be in the scorching wind and boiling water, 42 scalding water and under a shadow of black smoke, 43 Neither cool nor refreshing. 44 They had lived in luxury before this 45 and persisted in heinous sins. 46 They used to say: “What! Once we are dead and are reduced to dust and bones, shall we still be raised to a new life from the dead? 47 Will our ancient forefathers be resurrected too? 48 Say thou: verily the ancients and those of later generations: 49 “They will all be gathered together on the appointed time of the known day.” 50 Then indeed you, the astray, the deniers 51 you shall eat (the fruit) of the Tree of Zakkum. 52 Then will fill your bellies with it. 53 And thereon ye will drink of boiling water, 54 lapping it down like thirsty camels.' 55 This will be their welcome on the Day of Judgment. 56 We created you, why will you not believe! 57 Have you ever considered that [seed] which you emit? 58 did you create it or did We? 59 We have decreed Death to be your common lot, and We are not to be frustrated 60 from changing the nature of your existence and bringing you into being [anew] in a manner [as yet] unknown to you. 61 And indeed, you have already known the first form of creation (i.e. the creation of Adam), why then do you not remember or take heed? 62 Have you considered the seeds you till? 63 Is it you who cause them to grow or do We? 64 Did We will, We would make it broken orts, and you would remain bitterly jesting -- 65 Surely we are burdened with debt: 66 nay, we have been robbed!' 67 Have you seen the water which you drink? 68 Is it ye who shed it from the raincloud, or are We the Shedder? 69 Were it Our Will, We could make it salt (and unpalatable): then why do ye not give thanks? 70 Consider the fire that you strike (and get by friction). 71 Is it you who grew its tree, or is it We Who create? 72 We Ourselves made it for a reminder, and a boon to the desert-dwellers. 73 Then celebrate with praises the name of thy Lord, the Supreme! 74

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
