▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ But nay! I swear by the falling of stars; 75 And that is indeed a tremendous oath, if you understand. 76 Most surely it is an honored Quran, 77 in a hidden Book 78 Which (that Book with Allah) none can touch but the purified (i.e. the angels). 79 A Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds. 80 So is this the matter regarding which you laze? 81 do you make it your provision to belie it? 82 Then why, when the soul at death reaches the throat 83 And you are at that time looking on - 84 And We are nearer to him than you are, but you cannot see. 85 So why is it not, that if you are not to be repaid, – 86 can you not cause that [ebbing life] to return - if what you claim is true? 87 So if he is one of those who are near-stationed (to Allah), 88 Then is relief, and flowers – and Gardens of peace. 89 and if he is of those who are on the Right, 90 [he, too, will be welcomed into paradise with the words,] "Peace be unto thee [that art] of those who have attained to righteousness!" 91 But if he be of them that cried lies, and went astray, 92 For him is Entertainment with Boiling Water. 93 And burning in Hell-fire. 94 Verily, this is the Very Truth and Certainly. 95 So glorify the name of your Great Lord. 96
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
