Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)

۞ The Inevitable Calamity! 1 And what is that indubitable event? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 The Thamud and 'Ad denied the consequential calamity. 4 the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning; 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Do you see any remnants of them? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound one blast 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 The Day whereon ye shall be mustered nothing hidden by you shall be hidden. 18 On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 and neither known this my account! 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 Then into Hellfire drive him. 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 Verily, He used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 Nor urged others to feed the poor. 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
