But nay! I swear by that which you see, 38 and what you do not see 39 because the Quran is certainly the word of a reverent messenger. 40 And it is not the word of a poet; little do you believe. 41 Nor is it the speech of a soothsayer; how little do you ponder! 42 It is a revelation sent down by the Sustainer of the Universe: 43 And if Muhammad had made up about Us some [false] sayings, 44 We would surely have seized him by the right hand, 45 And then severed his life-artery, 46 Nor could any of you withhold him (from Our wrath). 47 And verily, this Quran is a Reminder for the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2). 48 And indeed We know that some among you are deniers. 49 yet, behold, this [rejection] will indeed become a source of bitter regret for all who deny the truth [of God's revelation] 50 And most surely it is the true certainty 51 Exalt the Name of your Lord, the Great. 52
