WHAT, THEN, is amiss with such as are bent on denying the truth, that they run about confusedly to and fro before thee, 36 [coming upon thee] from the right and from the left, in crowds? 37 Does everyone of them wish to enter the Garden of Bliss? 38 Never! We have indeed created them from a thing they know. 39 But nay! I call to witness the Lord of the Easts and the Wests, that We have the power 40 to replace them by others who would be better than they; and We shall certainly not be overpowered. 41 Wherefore let thou them alone plunging in vanity and sporting until they meet their Day which they are promised. 42 The Day whereon they will issue from their sepulchres in sudden haste as if they were rushing to a goal-post (fixed for them),- 43 With eyes aghast, abasement stupefying them: Such is the Day which they are promised. 44
