Noah (Nooh)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Verily We! We sent Nuh unto his people saying: warn thy people ere there come unto them torment afflictive. 1 He said: O my people! Lo! I am a plain warner unto you 2 Worship Allah, and fear Him, and obey me. 3 He will forgive you some of your faults and grant you a delay to an appointed term; surely the term of Allah when it comes is not postponed; did you but know! 4 He said: O my Lord! surely I have called my people by night and by day! 5 But my invitation increased them not except in flight. 6 And whenever I called them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, and wrapped them in their garments, and persisted, and waxed very proud. 7 And lo! I have called unto them aloud, 8 and preached to them in public, and also addressed them in secret. 9 and I said: "'Ask your Sustainer to forgive you your sins - for, verily, He is all-forgiving! 10 He will send you abundant rain from the sky, 11 And will give you increase of wealth and sons, and give you gardens and springs of water. 12 What is the matter with you that you deny the greatness of God, 13 Knowing that He has created you by various stages? 14 Do you not see how God has fashioned seven skies one above the other, 15 And made the moon therein a light, and made the sun a lamp? 16 how God has produced you from the earth and caused you to grow, 17 then He shall return you into it, and bring you forth. 18 Allah has made the earth spread out for you 19 so that you may walk along its spacious paths?" 20
