Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), “I have received the divine revelation that some jinns attentively listened to my recitation, so they said, ‘We have heard a unique Qur’an.’ 1 ‘That guides to the path of goodness, we have therefore accepted faith in it; and we shall never ascribe anyone as a partner to our Lord.’ 2 And [it teaches] that exalted is the nobleness of our Lord; He has not taken a wife or a son 3 The fool among us spoke against God outrage, 4 We had in fact thought that men and jinns would never speak a lie about God, 5 And persons among humankind have been seeking refuge with persons of the jinn, so that they increased them in evil disposition. 6 And indeed they supposed, even as ye suppose, that Allah would not raise anyone (from the dead) - 7 "'And [so it happened] that we reached out towards heaven: but we found it filled with mighty guards and flames, 8 and that “we would take up stations in the heaven to try to hear but anyone who now attempts to listen finds a shooting meteor in wait for him”; 9 And we do not know [therefore] whether evil is intended for those on earth or whether their Lord intends for them a right course. 10 Some of us are righteous, while others are not; we follow divergent paths. 11 'And we think that we cannot escape (from the punishment of) Allah in the earth, nor can we escape (from the punishment) by flight. 12 'And as for us, since we have listened to the Guidance, we have accepted it: and any who believes in his Lord has no fear, either of a short (account) or of any injustice. 13 Some of us have surrendered (Muslims) and some of us have deviated. Those who surrendered sought the Right Path, 14 but those who deviated from the Truth, will be the fuel for Hell.” 15 Would they but go straight on the way, We would give them to drink of water copious, 16 so that We might try them through this bounty. Whoso turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will cause him to suffer a grievous chastisement; 17 And the mosques are for Allah (Alone), so invoke not anyone along with Allah. 18 And when the slave of Allah stood up in prayer to Him, they crowded on him, almost stifling. 19
