No, by the moon! 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 A warning to mortals, 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 until death approached us". 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
