Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 a warning to mortal man 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 running away from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
