Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
