Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
