Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon darkens 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
