Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 Others will be despondent, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
