Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
