Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 separating one from another, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 To clear or to warn. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 for an appointed time? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
