Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 when heaven shall be split 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 till a known term decreed? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
