The News (Al-Naba')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And We made your sleep to be rest (to you), 9 and the night as a cover, 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 And have kept a very bright lamp in it. 13 And We have sent down from the rain-clouds water plenteous. 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 Verily the Day of Sorting out is a thing appointed, 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 [On that Day,] verily, hell will lie in wait [for those who deny the truth] 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 Where they will remain for aeons, 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. 24 except boiling water and pus 25 Requital corresponding. 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 and they cried loud lies to Our signs; 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30
