Al-Naba' 2 of 2
Surely for those who guard (against evil) is achievement, 31 gardens and vineyards, 32 and youthful maidens of like age, 33 And flasks full and flowing. 34 They will hear no blasphemies there or disavowals: 35 A reward from your Lord, an ample calculated gift (according to the best of their good deeds). 36 The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all that lies between them, most benevolent, to whom none may dare address a word. 37 On the day when the angels and the Spirit stand arrayed, they speak not, saving him whom the Beneficent alloweth and who speaketh right. 38 That day is certain. So whosoever likes may prepare a way to his Lord. 39 Lo! We warn you of a chastisement near at hand; the Day when a man will look on what his own hands have sent forth, and the unbelievers shall say: “Oh would that I were utter dust.” 40

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
