The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 you pay attention 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
