He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]. 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 or he might be mindful and good counsel might avail him. 4 As to one who regards Himself as self-sufficient, 5 to him didst thou give thy whole attention, 6 although it is not for you to be concerned if he remained unpurified. 7 And to him who came to you eagerly 8 And with fear (in his heart), 9 to him thou payest no heed. 10 Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment, 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 Inscribed in Writs honoured, 13 Exalted and purified, 14 [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, 15 Noble and dutiful. 16 Accursed be man! How stubbornly he denies the Truth. 17 Of what [stuff] has He created him? 18 From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, 19 then eased his path for him, 20 Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; 21 Then when He wills, He will resurrect him. 22 Not one he has not yet completed what he was commanded. 23 Let man therefore consider (the sources of) his food. 24 For that We pour forth water in abundance, 25 Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) 26 Then We cause to grow therein the grain, 27 and vines and edible plants, 28 olives, dates, 29 And dense gardens, 30 And fruits and fodder,- 31 for you and for your animals to enjoy. 32 But when the deafening blast is sounded, 33 on the Day when each man shall flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 on that Day every man among them will have enough concern of his own -- 37 Many a face will be glittering on that day. 38 Laughing and full of joy, 39 And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them, 40 Dust shall cover them 41 These will be the unbelievers, the wicked. 42
God the Almighty always says the truth.
