He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs). 2 Yet for all thou didst know, [O Muhammad,] he might perhaps have grown in purity, 3 or he might be mindful and good counsel might avail him. 4 Now as for him who believes himself to be self-sufficient 5 to him didst thou give thy whole attention, 6 Though it is no blame to thee if he grow not (in spiritual understanding). 7 but as for one who comes to you, eagerly 8 and fears (Allah), 9 Of him wast thou unmindful. 10 These verses are a reminder 11 For any one who desires to bear it in mind, 12 It is contained in scrolls highly honoured, 13 Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, 14 (Written) by the hands of scribes- 15 Noble and righteous. 16 Perish man! how ungrateful he is! 17 Out of what did Allah create him? 18 From a (sperm) drop He created him and then determined him, 19 then eased his path for him, 20 Then He causes him to die, and puts him in his grave; 21 Then when He pleases, He will bring him back to life. 22 Not one he has not yet completed what he was commanded. 23 So let man just consider his food: 24 We poured water, pouring it in great abundance, 25 Thereafter We cleave the earth in clefts, 26 And cause the grain to grow therein 27 And grapes and green fodder 28 And olive-trees and palm-trees 29 And enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees, 30 and fruits, and pastures, 31 for you and for your animals to enjoy. 32 But when the great calamity comes 33 That Day shall a man flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 Each man will have enough cares that day. 37 Many a face will be glittering on that day. 38 Laughing, joyous. 39 but others will be gloomy 40 o'erspread with darkness -- 41 Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). 42
God the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
