The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
