The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun is overthrown, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 that hide, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 and brightening morning, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
