The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And the night when it departs, 17 The rising dawn, 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
