The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Where then will you go? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
