The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 that hide, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
