The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Woe to the defrauders, 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. 3 Do such people not realize that they will be raised up, 4 On a Mighty Day, 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 And what do you know, how (wretched) the Sijjeen is! 8 A record [indelibly] inscribed! 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 Those who deny the Day of Justice. 11 No one rejects it except the sinful transgressors 12 When Our revelations are conveyed to him, he says, "Fables of the ancients!" 13 By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do! 14 Nay! Surely, they (evil-doers) will be veiled from seeing their Lord that Day. 15 Then most surely they shall enter the burning fire. 16 Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny." 17 Surely the ledger of the pious will be in 'Illiyun (heights above the heights). 18 And what will explain to thee what 'Illiyun is? 19 A record [indelibly] inscribed, 20 witnessed by those who are near (to Allah). 21 The virtuous will live in bliss, 22 reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them). 23 On their faces you will see the glow of beatitude. 24 They will be given to drink pure sealed wine. 25 its seal is musk, for this let the competitors compete; 26 With the wine is a drink from Tasnim, 27 A fountain from which only they who are honoured drink. 28 The sinners laughed at the believers 29 And wink one to another when they passed them; 30 and when they went back to their families, they went back jesting, 31 And when they saw them, they would say, "Indeed, those are truly lost." 32 But they had not been sent as keepers over them! 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 Reclining on couches, looking on. 35 "Are these deniers of the truth being [thus] requited for [aught but] what they were wont to do?" 36
