The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord and that befits it. 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 The reckoning of those whose Book of records will be given into their right hands 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
