The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
