The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

By the sky and the night comer - 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
