Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 and prepared goblets, 14 And arranged carpets. 15 and well spread carpets. 16 DO, THEN, they [who deny resurrection] never gaze at the clouds pregnant with water, [and observe] how they are created? 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And the mountains - how they have been established? 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
