Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 In an elevated garden, 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 And goblets set at hand 14 And arranged carpets. 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 Do they not then ponder how the clouds were formed; 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And the earth – how it has been spread out? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves – 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
