Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 and raised couches, 13 Goblets set, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and well spread carpets. 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 So, [O Prophet] exhort them: your task is only to exhort, 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
