Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 in a Garden on high, 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 and goblets laid out, 14 and arranged cushions 15 And linen spread out. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26
