The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 and the day as it rises bright! 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 And rejects the best, 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 and what will his wealth avail him when he goes down [to his grave]? 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 none shall enter it but the most wicked, 15 Who belieth and turneth away. 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 And not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewarded 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
