The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the midday brightness 1 and by the night when it covers, 2 Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you]. 3 And indeed the latter is better for you than the former. 4 And verily thy Lord will give unto thee so that thou wilt be content. 5 Did He not find you as an orphan and give you shelter? 6 And He found thee wandering, and He gave thee guidance. 7 And He found you poor and made [you] self-sufficient. 8 Therefore, be not harsh with the orphan; 9 And as to the beggar, chide thou him not. 10 and proclaim the bounty of your Lord. 11
