The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 Teacheth man that which he knew not. 5 No! [But] indeed, man transgresses 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Surely to your Lord is your return. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 A slave when he prayeth? 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 Or enjoineth piety? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
