The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Quraish (Quraish) before Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
THE STARTLING CALAMITY. 1 What is the event that terrifies the hearts? 2 And what will make you comprehend what the terrible calamity is? 3 A Day on which human beings would be like so many scattered moths, 4 and the mountains shall be like fluffs of carded wool in varying colours. 5 Then as for him whose balances are heavy, 6 Will be in a life of good pleasure and satisfaction. 7 but he whose weight is light in the Scale, 8 his shall be the deep pit for a dwelling. 9 And what have you understood, what the one that abases is! 10 A blazing Fire! 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
