Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

Destroyed were the hands of Abu Lahab, and he lay utterly doomed. 1 His wealth will not avail him or that which he gained. 2 Burnt soon will he be in a Fire of Blazing Flame! 3 And his wife, the portress of fire wood, 4 Will have a strap of fibre rope around her neck. 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
