And indeed, [it was for this reason that] Noah cried unto Us - and how excellent was Our response: 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 80 he was among Our believing servants. 81 Thereafter We caused the others to be drowned. 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 When he came to his Lord, with a sound heart. (Free from falsehood). 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 And he cast a glance at the stars, 88 And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague. He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan's feast)." 89 So they turned away from him, and departed. 90 He then sneaked upon their deities and said, “Do you not eat?” 91 Why do you not speak?" 92 And then he fell upon them, smiting them with his right hand. 93 So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. 94 Said he: What! do you worship what you hew out? 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 They plotted against him, but We brought humiliation upon them. 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy, possessing forbearance. 101 And when he became capable of working with him, Ibrahim said, “O my son, I dreamt that I am sacrificing you – therefore now consider what is your opinion”; he said, “O my father! Do what you are commanded! Allah willing, you will soon find me patiently enduring!” 102 And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, 103 We called to him, saying: 'O Abraham, 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice 107 and left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 108 'Peace be upon Abraham!' 109 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac, a Prophet and among the righteous ones. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself. 113
