Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 Of evil-doers: 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
True are the words of God the Almighty.
